Founded in 1986, Dark Horse Comics is known for publishing tie-in stories for famous movie franchises like Star Wars and Predator as well as such original properties as Hellboy, 300, The Umbrella Academy, and Usagi Yojimbo. The latest company to come under The Embracer Group’s umbrella is not a video game developer though, but instead the long-running comic book publisher Dark Horse Media. Embracer, a European video game company, has acquired many developers over the past few years, including Biomutant studio THQ Nordic, Deep Silver of Dead Island fame, and Saber Interactive, developer of the upcoming Evil Dead: The Game. The Embracer Group has just completed its acquisition of Dark Horse Media, opening the door to possible AAA video game adaptations of the publisher's biggest properties - including Hellboy.
